Beyond Properties

The Challenge

Scalability Limitations: As traffic grew—especially during new property launches or seasonal interest spikes—the company’s on-premise infrastructure struggled to handle concurrent users, leading to slow performance and even outages.

Security Risks: Without dedicated cybersecurity expertise, the self-hosted environment became increasingly vulnerable to attacks such as DDoS, brute force login attempts, and data breaches involving sensitive customer information and transaction details.

High Maintenance Overhead: Managing hardware, updates, backups, and uptime monitoring placed a constant burden on the internal IT team, diverting focus from core business development and innovation.

Lack of Redundancy and Resilience: The absence of built-in redundancy and automated failover meant that any hardware or network issue could result in significant downtime, impacting customer trust and revenue.

Limited Integration and Automation: Hosting in-house made it difficult to integrate modern tools such as automated CRM workflows, marketing platforms, and mobile responsiveness—leading to a subpar user experience and operational inefficiencies.

Compliance and Data Sovereignty: As regulatory requirements around data storage and privacy became stricter, the company faced increasing difficulty in ensuring compliance with real estate industry standards and local data laws.

These challenges collectively drove the company to explore cloud-native solutions to enhance reliability, scalability, and security while lowering operational burdens.

The Solution

We engaged with the customer to design and implement a robust, highly available, and scalable solution on AWS tailored to their specific business needs and growth plans. We began by assessing the limitations of the self-hosted environment and proposed a cloud-native architecture in the AWS UAE region to enhance performance, reliability, and security.

The solution was built around Amazon EC2 instances hosted in Auto Scaling Groups to dynamically manage traffic loads, ensuring the application could scale up or down based on demand. These instances were placed behind an Application Load Balancer (ALB), which distributed incoming traffic evenly and enabled seamless failover in case of instance failures. To ensure high availability and disaster resilience, the partner deployed a Multi-AZ Amazon RDS for MySQL database, providing automated failover and synchronous data replication across multiple availability zones within the UAE region.

To accelerate content delivery and improve user experience across different geographies, Amazon CloudFront was integrated as a global content delivery network, caching static content like images, CSS, and JavaScript at edge locations. This not only reduced latency but also offloaded traffic from the backend servers. We also implemented automated CI/CD pipelines, secure configuration using IAM and Security Groups, and monitoring with Amazon CloudWatch.

Through this architecture, the AWS Partner enabled the real estate company to deliver a secure, fast, and always-available digital experience to its clients, while reducing operational burden and future-proofing the platform for scale and compliance.

The Result

The deployment of the AWS-based solution delivered strong results for Beyond Properties, both in terms of technical performance and business outcomes. Website and web portal availability increased to over 99.99% uptime, even during high-traffic events like property launches or promotional campaigns. Page load times improved by up to 60% due to CloudFront’s global edge caching, resulting in better customer engagement and longer session durations.

From a business perspective, the company experienced a 35% increase in qualified online leads within the first three months of deployment, directly contributing to higher conversion rates. Operational costs tied to infrastructure management dropped significantly, thanks to the use of auto scaling and managed services like RDS. This translated into a clear ROI within six months, as reduced downtime, increased efficiency, and higher lead conversion more than justified the migration and implementation costs.

Key lessons learned included the importance of building for scalability and resilience from the start, as well as the critical role of automated monitoring and alerting via AWS CloudWatch to proactively address performance issues. The project also highlighted the value of working with an AWS Partner who could bridge business goals with technical architecture, ensuring a secure, compliant, and cost-effective cloud presence aligned with the company’s growth strategy.
